I just got my partitions working, and I'm not doin that again unless my comp is really goin slow. I will be testing EA on vista, then on xp, and then on linux (emulation through my windows partition of course). And I will see my frame rate and overall performance on each of those...just for poops. I will prob be using vista most of the time though because it is friendlier to me in duel screens.

This means that my computer uses windows to play EA while I'm running linux, which means its just longer processes and more crap my comp has to go through, but for just for fun, I would like to see how it runs if I did that.

I just rebuilt my computer so yeah I can say I have.
Although I might have to reformate and use XP or Vista-32 bit, I doubt EA will run in 64 bit Vista, hardly any thing does yet.

EA worked fine on Vista last test I ran some time ago, that was some time ago though.
We all know it works on XP.
Unless arb is using an OGL/OSL version of the engine, last test ran, wine hates it. So do other *nix emulators.

I just have a feeling that EA will have issues with 64 bit vista... It is no problem to run XP or 32 bit vista, except for the fact that it wastes about 2 gigs of my ram.
I am running into a lot of problems with 64 bit Vista Ultima. 90% driver issues.
Edit: Lucid, where you running 64 bit?

ewww... vista can go suck a chode the size of a manhole... personally, why should i pay like the 200$ to buy an OS that's good for servers when i'm not running a server. i can play my games really well on 2 gigs of RAM on xp, when if i wanna play a game well on vista i'd need 4 gigs. i'm sorry but that's rediculous and i'll switch to vista when i absolutely have to to play my games.

People go to Vista for lots of reasons.
I agree with you Vista is a RAM *****, sucks up 1 gig just to it's self..
But so does 32 bit, but the problem with 32 bit is it sucks up the 1 gig but only is able to read 2 gigs.. go figure..
Unlike any other operating system Vista 64 can read an infninit amount of RAM..
XP takes up half a gig.. and only reads 2 gigs..
I dunno if anyone has priced ram lately but I got my 4 gigs for dirt cheap.
P.S why in the hell would you buy a OS???

Old XP systems are getting to hard to update =( I like more then 2 gigs of RAM my self, not bashing you guys. I was on your side of the fence not long ago.. But vista can see as much ram as you can put in it.. and it's a whole hell of a lot securer then XP, thast what made me turn over.. It has a lot of problems but people where having this same arguement when XP came out im sure lol.
my old AMD 3500 with 2 gigs of old ass DDR1 and my Radeon 9800 pro are going to be put into a somewhat functioning server hopefully... It's so old it cant even run XP any more =/

XP-64 and Vista-64 is a 100% difference. Thats comparing apples to oranges.

If its about comparing whether it runs in an x64 version of vista and a 32bit version of vista where it runs in 32bit vista its not a bad starting point.
