Anyone know anything about cars?

Serious topic. I don't expect any real useful advice or comments from here but that doesn't stop me. I'm rebuilding a 350. Anyone here shoot me some economical performance brands for rebuild kits/individual parts like cams and crankshafts it'd save me a little time.

If you know **** about cars nows your time to shine

What year and what are putting it in? Has any machine work been done to it yet let me know? You can order some nice hop up or std complete pretty resonable in price sometimes. Need to know what kinda shape block is in? Somtimes its cheaper to buy a short block or crate motor depends on what you want to do . I work in parts so have a few ideas for you just give a little more info on how you want to build it stk mild or wild! lol

I'm doin the 305 to 350 swap in a 89 F-body. It's the most logical, easiest, economical swap you could do. I'm not willing to drop 4 grand in a ls1 swap just yet but it's crossed my mind more then once.

I've already bought the 350 from a SUV application, I'm taking all accessories and everything that isn't compatible off and trashing em. Putting my 305 **** on it, delete pulleys instead of A/C and smog. No previous machine work has been done on the block, it's in bad condition. Doesn't matter, because I'm sticking it all in a hot tank, pressure washing, sand blasting, machining, and polishing it all at school.

I will turn it into a beast, I want the most HP and torque I can get for 1-2 grand. I am guessing the most important parts are camshaft, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons. Like I said I'm on a budget so forged pistons aren't happening - are forged **** really important? I don't really plan on doing high RPMs (5k) often but I sure as hell would like to know my car could handle it.

Basically I'm looking for the most important parts and I want to go big on them. I want this engine to last as long as possible, and have the highest performance I can push. I plan on getting a tuned PROM chip, yes.

Any recommendations as far as online stores go -- summit/jegs?

Let me get with a few people and will see what we can come up with. What about gas mileage, does that matter a little or alot? What Tranny? Fuel injection correct?

There are tons of options so I will hunt and see what combos you can use for the lowest cost proformance.I also would check multiple places other then summit and jegs 350 pro parts can be found cheap but it is a hunt. Querry QwikOrder

I was just doin some price checking for my 1970 Ponitac Tempest a few minutes ago. Because Pontiacs are so rare compared to Chevy, I'm prolly gonna put something like this in it. I did some reseacrh and this combo is a steal. To get that kinda HP in a crate type motor would/ should cost twice as much as this already dyno tested and complete with even the carb included. I know I'm gonna save some pennies and hopfully this will still be available in a few months!

EDIT: it don't include the block..my bad. But I guess it's still a good deal

Try leaving the original crankshaft, replace the hybrid connectors and fix the oil pump & oil pressure indicators, that should get you going.
