Server Down Time & Funding Issues
Greetings folks,
I'm sorry to say that due to lack of funding from players that the servers will be going offline until such a time that I can generate enough personal funds to pay our server bills. Our main server machines have been paid up for a year but due to growth and needed server configuration machines we've had to upgrade and add 3 more servers to our configuration and as such we are short about 700$ on our bill.
I am doing everything I can to try and generate the rest of the funds but things are going slow. Gamefish has come up with an idea that may help us keep the game online at least until the game can start generating enough money to pay for itself. The idea is player sponsorship.
The sponsorship idea is basically an option for players that allows you to make a donation to help keep Endless Ages online. Any amount of donation is appreciated but to be included in the sponsorship program your donation would need to be 50$ or more. Players who donate and sponsor Endless Ages get quite a few different perks such as a custom item made just for them that emits a cool looking aura around the character for notoriety as well as your name on our site showing that you are a sponsor. You will also be moved into a separate forum user group that gives an unlimited amount of signature and avatar space as well as your own email address with name@endless-ages.com and the ability to have your own site hosted by us with an unlimited amount of space and your own sub-domain on endless-ages.com such as http://gamefish.endless-ages.com. There are many other kinds of rewards that we would be more then happy to discuss with the players who would like to sponsor.
Anyway, back to the server issues. The server will most likely go offline sometime tonight and be down all of tomorrow and possibly the next day, as it may take me this long to generate enough funds to pay the rest of the bill and any reconnection fee's.
My sincerest apologies to everyone,
Jason
P.S. If your interested in sponsoring or donating to help keep Endless Ages online, feel free to send me a PM.

OMG WAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!! WHY AGAIN??? WHY? WHYYY?????
Simple solution: make endless ages p2p and make quests for the items on trading post.
The end......

There is not enough people that will pay to play, we'd never even be close to being able to pay the bills.
This is not a joke, I'm doing everything I can to generate funds but money isnt the easiest thing in the world to get.
Whats really terrible is that in about a month from now we'll have the whole game completely stable with almost all of the functions like Housing etc working and we wont have trouble advertising for new players and the game will start to generate money and everything will be great.
We've just been paying the server costs out of own pocket and just dont have the funds to do it anymore.
Thanks to all who has helped, dont worry, we'll get it back online its just going to take time.

If I can afford it, you have my money. Gonna have to do the minimum though, as I owe my parents 500$ as it is.

Assuming the playerbase steps up and are able to sponsor the $700 bill. How long would that pay for?...is that this month?

hmm interesting...Maybe you guys should think of doing subscriptions again, f2p is all good and well but i am certain there are atleast 150 people who would pay 9.99 a month to help keep this game up. Hell there are even a few that would sub two accounts. Well I hope it is figured out soon since donations are not really a way to keep the game going since you never know how many players will donate or how often they will donate. I still think haveing subscription fees would be best, but then again I dont know much about running a buisness of any sort. Hell you could even keep the trading post and have it so that you get a 50% bonus to tokens if you are subbed which would increase money coming in as everyone likes getting more bang for their buck. Also go back to the trial account system so those that dont register only get to play for 7 days or something like that. I would really hate to see the game tank because of money issues, especially when it seemed like it was going to start expanding and improving at a pretty decent rate.

A post like this is totally assinine.
If this is because of your position on trading post items etc.. then you are completely RIDICULOUS. none of you freaking people were supporting the game financially at all. All you do is ***** and complain about every little change and never contribute squat. Except to say that nothing should ever change and money will miaculously fal from the sky.
I have put (i checked) $50 bucks into this game in the last month. From the trading post. If you had done the same as well as the other people around here none of this would be a problem. 14 people buying or contriuting 50 bucks is all it would have taken.
trading post items are NOT a detrement to this game. The TP has generated the only income for this game and specifically the recent items added.
Personally i like the new management. I like the changes they are making and the direction they are looking to take the game. The truth is this game needs to be transformed into a game that will attract and keep a few thousand players. Not satisfy the resistance to change of a few people who dont even contribute in the first place.

what the **** are you ranting about.
I made a thread that saids "LOL hay gais we should be donating to tha gaem" (paraphrased) I caught some flak for even SUGGESTING that we should do such a DESPICABLE thing, and we're here at the crossroads that we're at now.
I'm not about to sit here and proclaim my loyalty and forever support to the game, and I'd like a list of the times I've blatantly complained about the changes, except maybe about credits in the the trading post, but I could care less about them. Now before you go jumping down mah delicate throat anymore, you should slow your roll a little bit. So please, promptly climb down from my tip and chill.
K thx

Guys, lets calm down ok.
No reason to get at each others throats over this. It is very frustrating for all of us to see these kind of things happen. Now, just because Silent forked over money out of his own pocket to pay the remainder of the bill doesnt mean everything is fine and dandy.
We need to remember that next month the same bill is going to roll around and we need to find some players that will sponsor or donate to help pay for next months bill. Our bill every month is 1700$ approximately. Lets make a plan and ensure the survival of the game we all love so much. Remember this is only temporary as once we get all the bugs and crashes fixed and all the features re-implemented we'll be able to market the game and advertise it as we have planned from the beginning. Once that happens we'll have more then enough folks playing to support the game and even have enough money to add new features that we all want so much.
Lets be civil folks, were all in this together.

It's kind of irritating that nobody can spare 10 bucks a month for a game you really love playing,..
6-7 years back it was 10 bucks a month and i could manage and i was 12 how hard is,..
go get a job and work for 1 hour in the week and you got your 10 bucks.
And a thanks to Silent for keeping the game LIVE!!!
