Emergency Maintenance - 7/8/2008 - Endless Ages

Greetings Endless Ages Fanatics,

Tonight we will be having some emergency maintenance and down time to change around how the server functions and to hopefully get over some of the memory issues we've been having. We'll be adding 3 more machines to our setup and reconfiguring which services are on which machines to get a more "clustered" and load balanced setup.

The only down side to this whole process is that its going to increase our bill another 700$ a month, but we absolutely have to do this.

When the server goes offline expect it to be offline for atleast 2-4 hours. A patch will be released on 7/9/2008 in both Automatic download mode and via manual distribution as well.

Update: Maintenance is completed, expect the patch to be available in the next couple of hours.

Server will most likely be going offline around an hour from now.

is the patch only to deal with the new server configuration or does it also deal with bugs and such ?

The patch will include bug fixes along with the configuration changes.

And just as an update, the down time for tonight has been canceled and the server will not be taken offline until tomorrow afternoon. We will give a warning in advance so players know before hand that it'll be going offline.

sounds great can we expect release notes for the patch for around the time the server goes down ? just to give us something to look forward to while the server is offline

The multi servers is more to help isolate and rid of problems that have to do with stability. I don't know if my updates will be included in this, but if they are I will post my update notes on my blog.

Thats all Jason, I imagine he is just trying to get those servers as ready as possible before taking down the main server.

Ok so let me see if I have this correct. Server did not go down last night 7-7-08 but it will be going down tonight 7-8-08. Im a little confused because it sounds like its going down now and if it did go down last night where can i dl the files?

Server downtime was resceduled to tonight... files will be up later for download. In a couple hours

Of course it does not help that Im easily confused most of the time.
