Is there even any possible way to send a private message in-game? or /tell or whatever it is in any other MMO.

Also, is there any command to find out who's online currently in-game? or rather, to find out if anyone specific is online, etc.

There used to be a /t PLAYER_NAME MESSAGE command. It's currently broken so it does not work. The only way to tell if a specific player is online from any zone is to join that player's group/clan, and to check the group/clan page.

yes, but unfortunately... the way of using the trade screen to see who's in the zone is something I figured out purely on my own in the first hour after installing EA for the first time! ... lol.

But thanks for mentioning... that I can't mention anything to anyone in private messages :P

If you want, there is a /whisper MESSAGE command that sends messages to only people close to you.

Or, you can have a temporary 2-person clan, and then use clan chat to conduct a private conversation. =p

2-person clan sounds useful... but, can you invite people who are already in another clan? and can you invite them from different zones?

In another clan, no. In different zone, I'm not sure, but I believe so.
