Multiple computer issues? - Endless Ages

Greetings all. Been a long time since ive enjoyed EA.. anyways... I seem to be having some issues with connecting. Ive read that there are some firewall and router issues, and I seem to be getting some weird quirks when my fiance and I both try to play at the same time. We are both behind the same router with the same global IP which has given me grief occassionally in the past

Are there any known issues regarding this?

Fufufu, frogger, and I play right next to one another all the time. Frogger's cousin has sat in as a fourth as well. Never had an issue except for when one person decides to wander on over to youtube or something and it CIs the lot of us.

Humm not really, the Major prob right now is that some ppl have prob patching, do U patch ok, is it just in game U have a prob or what let me know, also what kind of router do U have U can eather post here or send me a PM and I will see what I can do to help ya out.

Could you please describe these "issues with connecting" so that we may more specifically locate the problem? Exactly what is the problem you encounter?

Well despite the issues im about to list, we have managed to get in and play for a little twice.

- Sometimes when one of us is logged in and the other logs in, it will perminately CI the other right as they finish logging in.
- Excessive CI's if we both manage to get logged in.
- At the time of this post I was having issues with the updating, but I was able to resolve that with the full manual patch.

We are running on highspeed internet that is a bit on a slower side. We have shutdown all other internet related applications and firewalls.

Right now it seems its CI crashing the other computer right as the second one is supposed to get to char selection. THe second computer logging in will get the black screen and unable to connect message.

One system is running Vista, one is running XP. Both with all updates possible. Last night I had one system stay logged in the entire night while I slept. I only seem to be having serious issues as soon as the second system trys to log in. Both characters are AP and on the island. I am currently using a Linksys NR041 router on a medocre broadband ISP.

Also note that we have not had any other issues like this playing other games.

If I can acquire a Windows running laptop I'll try playing EA on my desktop and the laptop through a crossover cable. It could be possible both accounts at the same time eat up too much bandwidth and your ISP is throttling you. That could easily be it especially if you're with Comcast. Comcast is full of assholes.

Well I just recently moved to another state and Ill be the first to admit that the broadband is MUCH slower here than in Florida. However, id be REALLY surprized if it was the ISP, as we have played countless other games that should be more resource intensive.. while running downloads and other things.

And no, we have seperate accounts.

update report please, identify computers as below so we can narrow it farther down.

VISTA box number 1
XP box number 2

I know it may sound silly but try do ipconfig and make sure both boxes are not hogging the same ip address by accident. I have seen it happen a couple of times before.

Did you set up your own internal network or someone else did it for you?

Again may be silly but any way you have an extra network cable you can toss on one of the computers and see if it makes any difference. If you have an extra cable try check both computers to see if there is any difference in ci's and such.

Did you set up any type of port forwarding on the Linksys NR041 this has known to cause issues in the past.

Linksys NR041 has also had issues in the past with 2 or more computers in the same room using their network to play the same game. I'm trying rem if I still have the printout it has something to do with packet transfer and packet loss.

Tbarlow rem the customer we had that came in to the store with almost the same issues? call me and see if you can rem what we did to fix it im trying to find my Linksys info I had on this same issue.

i have an issue as well i created an acount like three days ago and the game has never let me sign on idk y ive checked the password and user name a buch of times it just keeps say it cant find my username and password
