Installation Instructions
To install the game, simply download and run the latest installer located here:
Endless Ages - Your Journey Begins - Downloads - Endless Ages Files

The minimum system requirements for Endless Ages are as follows:

1.4 GHz Processor
256 MB RAM
64 MB Graphics
DirectX 9.0

Recommended System Requirements
1.7 GHz Processor
512 MB RAM
128 MB Graphics (Pixel Shader 2.0 to see water effects)
DirectX 9.0

After Endless Ages is done installing, run "Play Endless Ages" from your desktop, and follow the link to creating a new account (note: this is different from your forum account name and password!!). Use that username and password to log into the game (not your forum username and password!).

Running "Play Endless Ages" from your desktop should automatically patch itself and update your files. If it doesnt, here are some troubleshooting tips:

No server name shows up in launcher, or Cannot Connect to Server
1- If you use Norton Internet Security, DISABLE IT TEMPORARILY. Endless Ages has known and unresolved issues with Norton. You may re-enable Norton after successfully logging into the game.
2- Check any other firewalls that may be blocking your connection to Endless Ages. This includes Windows Firewall, etc. You might want to disable them temporarily to see if they are they cause of your problem.

Device Create Failed Error Message
1- Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0 installed.
2- Make sure your video drivers are as up to date as possible. This error is due to video issues.

The following files and instructions are outdated and no longer necessary due to the new client installer.

2.0 Installer [current version 2.2]: EASetup2.0.exe - FileFront.com

ea-livesetup.exe (old client):
Mirror 1: ea-livesetup.exe - MEGAUPLOAD
Mirror 2: ea-livesetup.exe - Endless Ages Setup - DOWNLOAD
For Mirror 2, you'll have to download both parts AND the merger file. Then, run the merger file. Then, run ea-livesetup.exe.

Old Troubleshooting Tips (No longer necessary due to new client installer):
Game is stuck downloading a certain file (0kb: filename or Verifying: filename)
1- Install the manual patch listed here (ignore the ones on the download page, they're outdated): http://www.endless-ages.com/planet-i...11-08-a-t1229/
1- Simply download, run, and install to your Endless Ages install directory.
2- If this is still giving you problems, go to the individual CAB file download link in the manual patch thread listed above. Open up the CAB file and extract the files inside into your \EndlessAgesR\gamefiles\ folder.
3- Lastly, if this still does not fix your problem, check your registry to see if there is an install path mismatch. Go into your registry and make sure your install path is correct, and is where you set the game to be installed. Also make sure there is a backslash after the install path to make sure your folders go into the right places, so you dont end up with folders with names like \EndlessAgesRgamefiles\. To do this, Start Menu > Run > regedit > HKEY LOCAL MACHINE > Software > EndlessAgesR and check the value under "Install Path" and make sure it matches.

Ok, I believe that I have done everything that I am supposed to... but I am still hanging at the loading screen... I have waited for half an hour but nothing happens. The screen says loading and the bar in the bottom right appears to be pretty far along but I'm not sure where it stops so who knows. I have checked my game files and it appears that I have every file I need downloaded correctly. I have patched the game, uninstalled, reinstalled, and restarted the system... Perhaps it is some compatibility issue with my system? I have no trouble running pretty much any game you can think of but.... alright check me on this...

Intel Core 2 Quad OC'd to 3.4 ghz
8GB ram with adjusted tight timings
Three Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX's in SLI
Abit Fatality Mobo
1TB Hard Drive
Water Cooled
Multiboot Ubuntu Linux, Redhat Linux, and... probably the hanging issue... Windows Vista which I am trying to run this game in.

If you need more info please ask. I am not a quitter and will get this working so help me God. As you can tell, I am kind of a tech junkie. If I can not get this resolved on this system, I will try it on one of my older ones.

ok here are a few things you can try ... right click the icon on your desktop and goto proprties then click the compatibility tab and put a check mark on run as administrator, if this doesnt help please tale note of the loading bar in the bottom right corner and what file name and size of that file, and we can go from there.

This game is compatible with Vista.

Fixed. The game would hang when it got to loading game.... but I noticed it was slow on loading the earevolution files before it got there, so I went and got all of them individually, deleted my prior content and put the new ones in... sucker started right up. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

there is an issue with long down time during loading, it almost looks like the game is stalling or not even doing anything but it is loading. The DV's are aware of this and are trying to fix this for a faster,smoother transition into the game.

if you are getting the error message "Unable to connect to server Please Try again later" the main cause of this is a missing "\" in the registry.. since i only use XP i have went in and created a Registry fix that you can DL and run to solve this issue. You can Download it HERE.

DL the file to your desktop, then double click on it, a box will pop up and ask if your sure you want to do this .. click ok.

Try and login if your still getting the same error message then you are more than likely useing Norton Firewall and even though you disable it, it is still blocking incomming communications .. you will have to totatlly shut the fire wall down inorder to get it working .. :see nortons home page for instructions on doing this.:

The game does run on Vista i have this verified as I run one computer with Vista. you can also right click the shortcut and go to properties and downgrade the compatibility issue to make it run on different Os's

Haven't been able to play for weeks. Created a new character, loader goes through all the downloads, and stops downloading at noobie zone.
AND I OWN this damn thing!

But on a serious note goto the FTP site and download the noob zone files and install them manually.

i used the portal on uoc to see where it went and now its stuck downloading newbiezone.. for the past week i havnt been able to play

Download the newbiezone cab file, and open it. Drag the files inside into your \EndlessAgesR\gamefiles\ folder =) That should fix it =)

Ok i have a file that will run a connection test for you run the file and post a new topic with the results ... (See attached file) you will need a zip program of some sort.

as for cab fiels click HERE and download a fresh copy of it then use the zip program to unzip the cab and place the files into

c:\EndlessAgesR\GameFiles\
c:\EndlessAgesR\MapsModels\

zip programs:
Winzip
7zip
WinRAR

if your getting bad images (ie kidion pets look like farions) try re-installing the 1.5 Patch then reinstall the 1.6 Patch in that order

as most cases of unable to connect are due to firewall issues try this to disable any running firewalls

.. goto start ->run -> type "msconfig" no quotes a new box will open at which time u goto the tab that says startup hit the button that says disable all, then goto the tab that says service

**IMPORTANT** put a checkmark in the box on bottom left "Hide all microsoft services" **IMPORTANT**

then hit disable all, click ok will ask to reboot say yes once it comes back a new box will apear after login put check in box then click ok, and try to login

as much as i dont want to rain on anyones parade....in the mornings anyway.....both me and link(same pc)and paramount have issues with geting a server with the new launcher so dont get rid of the old launcher soon

My launcher? It is the same as the other launcher except the trading post displays. If it doesn't work you probably need to allow it through your firewall.

k i uninstalled the new one and gona start from fresh what do i need to do to bypass the firewalls without removing them the family pc is a bit old and is a target for a lot of crap that avast picks up

I haven't been able to play for months, I'll just reinstall the game with the new installer later on, but as far as I know the game is up to date now, and I have all fire walls disabled and it still can't find the server. I've had the urge to plays this for a while but lack the motivation to go through all those manual patches and what now, I'm sure happy that new installer was created
