Okay so whenever I tried to install this game, I clicked on the Endless Ages icon on my background and it said "Updating client files" and it just stays there forever. I played the old Endless Ages and it was okay but this one just stays on the screen. It will not do anything else

Please respond if you know the reasoning behind this "Problem"

The usual stuff : check if any firewall blocks you (deactivate it / authorize EA to go through it).

Also if you have Norton, it causes problems, i dunno exactly at which point it does, but anyway you have to fully deactivate it / uninstall it even, in order for EA to work.

If That dont work, it did it to me too, Make sure you install Everything to the folder!!! I messed that up and it said that to me all the time...so try that, if it dont work post here again

Tranfer what to what folders, and from where? I transferred the sounds into the sounds folder and the mapmodels into the mapmodels and the gamefiles into the gamefiles folder, but there is no CHACHE folder to put in to the "EndlessAgesR" CACHE folder. Am I supposed to put the files from the folder in my C: drive into the follders into the folders in the EndlessAgesR folder?

Just create a new C:\EndlessAgesR\cache\ folder and put all the files there.
Everything should be in the C:\EndlessAgesR\ directory.

yea I had this problem too. what worked for me was goin into regedit

local machine -> software -> EA ->

then changing the install path to something else.

Alright so is there anyway to play this game without taking down Norton? I made it to where it was permiitted,first time, i installed it in program files and made a new folder there, then clicked on the desktop icon and it brings me to the screen saying Updating etc etc much like the OP stated, so i uninstalled, rebooted, and installed it again only did it with default where it wanted to be installed in the C:\ and not in the C:\program files like i did the first time

man i'm so spoiled by installers that put the programs in the right spot

I believe that there have been issues with Norton Internet Security for a long while. I do not believe they have been resolved yet. You don't have to completely remove Norton Internet Security, merely disable it for the few hours you plan on playing.

Ahh i miss Zone Alarm...see this is a new comp, norton came with it so i decided to keep norton untill the sub runs out, then its back to good ol ZA, Thank you for the response.

Also, follow these steps.

1) Install the game.
2) Install the manual patch if your having auto patching issues.
3) Make sure to set a rule to allow both ENDLESS.exe and EndlessAges.exe to access the internet in both TCP and UDP protocols.

If after all this you still have issues, then try disabling Norton, or check to make sure another firewall isnt installed and blocking it along with Norton, such as Windows Firewall.

Alright Jason, I manually put the patch files in their respective spots, game files to game files etc, set the rules for both ENDLESS.exe and Endlessages.exe to access the internet,hmm...whats this EndlessAgesR i see on my Desktop?

yo i tried patchin the game i tried both normal patchin and manual seems that it dont work for me it keeps sayin updatin and stuff tried to run it usiing the starter of EA just a black screen....and i got endlessagesRCACHE, endlessagesRgamerfiles,endlessagesRmapmodels and endlessagesRsounds outside of my instalation map wich is D:\EndlessAgesR the only maps inside there are mapmodels gamefiles and sounds and some other stuff like ENDLESS and enslessages.exe and i disabled norton firewalls and all other stuff from norton

ok i did i got it running yay but i cant see any servers.... i can enter my name password screen optoins but servers are blank? i disabled firewall still dont work :s

Make sure any firewalls are disabled and/or allowing it to connect. Word is that if you have Norton you have to completely uinstall it to allow the game to access the port, which sounds really dumb but that's what the "experts" say.

ye well i disabled firewall and i got norton only prob is endless ages.exe aint showing up on firewall program rules so i cant set it to allow connection from internet and to internet

I don't know all I can do is repeat what the devs say. What they say is that if you have Norton then you must completely uninstall it to ensure it isn't causing a connection conflict. If you don't mind give it a try, I'm curious to know if it really matters.

lol you seriously think uninstalling norton is gona help? lol i dont think so and i aint taking that risk il find some way to bypass the firewall with endless ages
