Various ideas on...well...almost everything.
While taking a stroll through the forums, I saw some of the worst implemented aspects of the game, like the looting system, or melee and so on.
Since I have some ideas to fix those problems and not only those, I write this post.
The ideas will be divided in genres (ex. -Looting- -Skills- etc.). If someone wants to contribute, you're free to do it, but keep things as clean as possible. Also, constructive critic is appreciated and encouraged.
-Looting-
1) We might use the most common system used by MMORPGS : Autoloot. When the mob is killed, objects are immediately transferred into your inventory (so to avoid people looking your hard-earnt objects).
-Melee-
Melee is way too basic as it is, simply keeping pressed a button isn't engaging <<
So, I propose a movement-based system, like the one in TES-IV: Oblivion.
For example, a different type of attack is unleashed by strafing in different directions, and keeping pressed the attack button charges up a power-hit (stronger melee attack) which has different effects basing on weapon type, strafing direction, and more damage. With each click of the attack button, it is unleashed a single blow, and the animation changes accordingly with the direction.
Last but not least, the melee weapon might be used also as a sword. Keeping pressed RMB (Right Mouse Button), the player goes into a defence stance, where he takes less damage from enemies, but he cannot attack. Movement speed too is reduced by 40-50%.
In my opinion, these ideas would make the melee waaaaay more enjoyable.
-PKing-
Random PKing isn't a great idea : who stops people from randomly killing everyone? And if someone has to do a mission, but the mission area is camped by 3-more high lvs? This and much more examples could let us see the bad sides of random PK. I propose to...
1) ...Make all areas near cities (and in cities too) protected areas. That means vaster no-kill regions of what are now.
As this, PKers may object that this steals lot of victims for them. Well, they can be rewarded with...
2) ...Killmarks. A killmark is an object got at the moment of the death of the player-victim. A killmark is used to train a particular stat (ex. Hiding, WT, etc.) or be sold (for quite some cash), but not traded. Maybe, we could add the "Fame" stat : for each killmark you get, fame raises by 1. The exp / cash got from a killmark depends on the level of the killed player, basing on the higher level between melee and WT.
And with...
3) ...Making PK available from lv1. So, everyone can be killed / kill from the start, making PK more enjoyable. This doesn't brings to total mindless PKing beacuse of the 1st statement I made.
