Tradeskills - boring...
I remember back when I had tried EA a long long time ago, you could set an amount of times to perform a craft. Now, you need to sit there and click........and click.........and click. I usually 'play' games because of the tradeskills, but in EA it makes me want to quit already.
Maybe add an option via tokens to be able to do this...anything.
The GUI is horrible as well. From a developers point of view, whether the game is free or not, it could use some work. A better ui is a huge attractor for new players. If they get confused or find things seem unorganized, they'll pop back out, uninstall and possibly review the game as a piece of crap.
Maybe it's time to hit the source again, instead of the tools, and fix a few things that could possibly make some big changes the game seems to need in order to survive.

Jason already said like a month ago that he plans to bring back the crafting system of old - tip: macro click instead of sitting there making stuff.

That is taste I suppose. The initial UI you see isn't too bad, but the menu, and the other windows (tradeskills, chat [especially], quest, etc) I think need some updates.
I think the easiest way to deal with this though, is to throw a customizable UI system in...lua is pretty easy to impliment and easy to customize with. Any design won't make everyone happen, however several designs, custom or not, ought to

A month ago? Any estimated time for when specific changes will make their way in?

Well there is a UI contest going on Design Contest, that if you are artistically inclined you might find fun in partaking. Otherwise you could just vote on your favorite when the devs decide its time to pick a winner.
And the tradeskills are currently subpar, but they kinda hacked something together just to get it in and playable. So its better than before when there was nothing, but obviously needs some work, hopefully soon.
In the meantime I use ACTool its a freeware macro tool (unlike some of the other macro tools people use here, where they "borrow" licenses to use)
Here is my tradeskill macro (actually its just a button presser, nothing fancy, just start the macro and place your yellow arrow over the item you wish to craft)
Code:
SetActiveWindow ENDLESS
Loop 100000000
LeftMouseDown
delay 1001
LeftMouseUp
delay 1001
end

Thanks, i'll give it a go. I wasn't sure if 3rd party macro's were against the rules or not in EA.
Also, if the server is down, the splash screen should let you know, rather then just freezing at a verification. That has to be driving people away in confusion and frustration.
I also lead someone with me to try the game out again, and they were confused as to why there were no servers in the list....initially we thought maybe the game was just dead, until we tried logging in anyways.
And to rabble on, I want to suggest using RakNet as a network library for the game, due to the fact that it is very easy to use, it's robust, and simple to add a p2p voice chat system with (which would be extremely nice in this game, via clans or groups). Not nearly as important as anything i've mentioned prior though.

Yeah macros have kinda a grey line between legal and illegal around here. Basically tradeskills and SS focusing seem to be okay. But shooting macros to level off mobs tend to be frowned upon. But I'm not a mod or anything so take my explanation with a grain of salt.

Lets all just be Patient for Jason releasing most of the stuff out, Atleast you can have fun with the game and actually can play unlike the old version when it died on us! How rude!

Well Jason is improving the game little by little, and expect something big from Jason.
He is working on adding back the housing system. Maybe he may throw some fixes here and there.

It has been a while since a big update has been seen... but think about it, Jason is working on a ton of things at once, a new clan system, fixing the game, new UI, new main website, new features, new armor, new landscapes... what can you expect from a few people who do this IN THEIR FREE TIME and are currently making a net loss and throwing their own money into it.
