Melee needs love

So most of the frog swords, and probably other races, are still on the old damage channel system. My lvl 12 sword hits for like 200 earth damage while my lvl 13 is only like 50 rune. Since armor doesn't have earth protection I can chop people to death in like 2-3 hits with the lower level sword, while the higher is a bit useless for pvp.

It also needs to be made more versatile. There isn't much that you can melee more effective than u can just shoot. My level 13 rune sword seems to do less damage per second than my level 12 rune gun, it should do quite a bit more damage IMO.

So i would say, the higher level rune and death swords should either do a bit more damage per hit or faster rate of 'fire'.

And/or I would say to allow swords to add some armor to allow you to actually melee stuff. Yea you can run around a ton so you don't die, but at that point you will do more damage with a gun. Not saying the swords should be uber powerful so u can just sit there and kill everything, but adding a little bit of protection would go a long way.

Ideally there could be shields you could equip if you were using 1 handed swords, but I imagine that would take far too long to implement so I'll stick to the simple fixes.

Yea melee needs more dps than guns cause you're going in your face against your opponent, which makes it a lot harder to dodge shots at you.

I think melee would be more effective if things like ash could shoot out their back side =D If that would be fixed melee would go better but then it would make everything else unbalanced D=

Yeah, it's pretty sad. Mine hit for 8 followed up by 160ish a couple days ago. That's a bit on the random side
