magic!!
we should have more magic scrolls and up the max lvl of magic. magic i feel should be more useful. i mean you have 2 scrolls that people normally use (invis and greater heal) other then that all the other ones are pretty useless. maybe like some defense scrolls or somethin like that i could see going over very well. magic could be awesome! just an idea.

Magic should be more like shapeshifting really, if arranged properly you could make iit as a way to attack.

Currently magic still does channel damage! I was thinking of leaving it that way, and leaving SS with protection against those channels, just to make them both have their own use.

Thats a great idea Telos, sounds like a good idea to me anyway.
But yeah giveing Magic a use would be nice, but before that, the problem iwth disarming weapons to use scrolls needs to be fixed because in combat you cant stop for 20 seconds to disarm a qespon..
and AJ if you stoped posting we would all be thankful, and I read your other post..... lol!!! I don't know Tissue just said it the right way.

That would be great but you would also need to make it faster because it takes like 10 seconds at least per spell

if they quicken how fast you can use magic they'll have to come up with a different way of lvling it. OR!! have the quick cast magic spells lvl magic really slow or not at all.

Or level using quick-cast spells, which would all be attack spells, by hitting mobs like for WT/MC.
edit : btw, speaking about magic, another concern i have is about the obligation of having no weapon equiped to use it... while it's obviously required for attack spells, forcing a player to choose between guns or magic for damage dealing, it's only a big hassle for every other spells : light, heal, invisibility (when it will be back in game, and btw it was overpowered compared to the hide skill, should be a MAX magic level spell), for instance it makes healing spells very hard to use in fight, and currently even impossible with no "bare hands" or "previous/next weapon" button...
There is so much to say about magic, lol...

Ya why not 2 different magic skills indeed.
One of them, 2 seconds delay, impossible to use with weapon equiped (or even better, impossible to use with any weapon *in your inventory*). Those would be the damaging spells, leveling by hitting mobs.
The other one, the usual delay (like 6 seconds or so), usable even if weapon is equiped, leveling by merely casting spells. Those would be every other spells.
But in that case it would make the invisibility spell even stronger, and it absolutely doesn't need that, lol... it rather needs to be nerfed in a way or another...

well a good thing about having magic require both hands free was with the invis spell while still greatly overpowered, it had a slight disadvantage to using it.

ooh another idea! how about a party teleport scroll? teleports your party memebers to your location only. (if in the same map) that would be an awesome idea! when the person uses the scroll, all the party members will get a little dialog box that pops up asking if they want to goto that particular person.

Have magic spells in your quickbar. You prepare the spell, load it in your quickbar like a heal and when you use it it goes away like a spell. This way you can leave the 10sec prep time, while having to juggle the spell itself. It'll function just like having a weapon hotkeyed. Like a quickened spell in D&D.
When you're out of spells it's time to go re-prepare them. Also spells like this shouldn't stack thus making people think about what they're going to roll with.
This makes magic Useful, Scary, require a bit of planning and thinking, and destructive. Imagine if someone can suddenly throw a 7 hot key salvo of rapid fire spells. Sure they might own anything they hit, but they're going to have to get into their inventory to get their heals and weapons.
EDIT: This idea is totally awesome and you all know it.

i didn't want to read this whole thing nor to i care to....
but here's my 2 cents....
have a spell that can be both offensive and defensive, like a spell that slows down another player's spell use intervals, or one that quickens yours. or even one that increases resistances, or one that gives you a larger jump for a duration or one that increases weapon damage for a duration or even melee damage and the opposite could be used like one taht decreases a targets damage for a duration or just plain stop them from being able to shoot. or one that even stops other players from using magic all together for a duration. the possibilities are indeed endless

Would it be possible to make using a magic scroll automatically "change" your weapon to none, much like using a hot key to switch from prc to nerve. That way you could use your magic spell with a hotkey then just rearm your weapon to keep on fighting

The easiest fix would be to make magic a lot SLOWER while at the same time making it really super powerful Like and uber nuke attack. But also leave off the crosshair so its hrd to aim.
But i mean make a couple new attack spells that do massive direct or area damage. That way it would still be worth taking a shot at it in PVP.
Disarm and flipping try to nuke someone with a fireball that does 500 damage per hit with an area of 100. Or a lighting attack that does 1000 per hit but is direct and hard to aim. Or an attack the disarms all armor and weapons on an opponent for 8 seconds. Or agros your fire rate. Or an absorb all damage for 30 seconds but you cant use weapons.
Thats how you balance it out and make it useful and something to be feared at the same time. Make it a skill that favors no race but is costly to train in and use. These uber spells would each take a rune from one of the bosses depending on the type and other normal ingredients. (just as an idea)
