Changes to Night Time may be? - Endless Ages

There are three ways we can approach this from, and I know this has been brought up before.. but I just wanted to see if there's any support in the community for this idea. I personally find night time very frustrating. It could be my gfx card.. or it could be something else.. but when it falls pitch black outside.. It really gets pitch dark on my screen.. and the only way to see something is to constantly lay down flares. Now the way it happens is.. lay down flares.. see creature. start shooting.. flares go out... wait until creature attacks so you can see their direction.. then point and shoot hoping it will be hit.

The second possibility.. Change night time to only encompass 10% of the total day.. and give the rest of the time to morning/afternoon/evening.

The third possiblity, may be make flares last longer?.. how about 2 minutes? That should be enough time. Its so very frustrating to hunt in the dark for me as it is.. I just want to have options.. and they include either not playing during night time.. or having a way to see. Thank you for your thoughts and comments, and remember.. this is just a suggestion from how I see the game. Some of you might see things differently, so please feel free to post your ideas/comments.

If you are seeing pitch black (outside, not in caves) then it is your monitor or video card. Night time does make some mobs blend in with the surrounding terrain but it should never be pitch black.

Try increasing the brightness on your monitor first. If that doesn't work try adjusting up the brightness and/or gamma through your video card. You should create a profile for this adjustment so you can change it back to normal if you want.

Yeah I have no problem seeing mobs outside at night.

They should give each charecter a Flashlight or torch that you can buy from the item store, and it goes out eventuly like in rl and the bateries go out well same thing and all you have to do is go back to store and get a new one and it should run out every 24 hours you have it lite it should add up

I had it pitch black also at night, I just raised my gamma on the gfx card while the game was in window mode at night time, I can see a lot better now and it didn't make day time look bad like I thought it was going to do.

It's supposed to be dark at times, but not so dark that your screen is pitch black as Dagger is experiencing. If flares or other illumination doesn't help you see then you need to adjust it though your monitor or video (gfx) card.

By the same token I don't want to see the ambient lighting of all maps changed to Air Kingdom, BoobTown2 or the newbzone. I like the dark feel of Gold and the maps that went with it. I think doing away with night time would ruin the game completely.

And Pain.. I completely agree with you. Taking away night time will ruin it completely. I don't want to see this fundamental part of EA gone as much as the next guy.. So Jason, can you please make it so that flares last longer? I found it a great solution to launch flares.. but give them an extended timer, of at least 1 minute per flare.. that will keep everyone happy.

I don't care if flares last 1 minute or whatever. But I don't find flares even needed because I always just use my gun to light up dark areas. It's no big deal, I don't give it that much thought. But then I don't want to have to take another gun (flare) and ammo in dungeons when one will do the trick.

I just want to make sure your problem with lighting isn't due to an absence of knowledge about tactics rather than a hardware issue.

i personaly hate the dark and night time, i loved the brightness of boomtown and air kingdom and newbie zone. this non what so ever makes me a newb or a gay gamer or something stupid like that. it just means that thats what i liked and its my opinion and i repspect all of yours also, i just dont like the dark i like to be able to see incredibly clearly what im doing.

Actually I think it's a gay-mer, but regardless not like that matters.

Night makes it more dangerous, maybe it could be a little shorter, and morning could be a lot short, and day could really take over. (Morning sucks, it's so freakin bright, try hunting in the water when everything is bright pee yellow and you're squinting so your eyes don't hurt.)
