Ok, Boomtown was the best n00bie zone ever... I really think it would be a good idea as the starter zone after IIA. With new quests, leave IIA ones the way they are, but its a place with new quests, or maybe simple quests like Str ring, etc, but it was much better for new commers than IIA. It gives them a change to experiance the potential of EA gameplay. Because they go to IIA and they are lost, they have no idea what the game is about, they are always getting killed becasuse mobs are hard for new comers, etc..
When boomtown there are almost no auto ag, the hardest auto ag would be ash, then DJ, then Jouster... And there are very few of them. You can see the main part of the map by eye in almost any place of lake... Its a well lit area, with good mapping...
I really urge this.
Maybe have it so u have 2 be lvl 8 b4 u can go to bt, that way n00bs can get into the game better...

It might help if the Race Leaders warned the newbies about how dangerous it is off the island they're on and that they should stay on the island for now. After a the quest in which they hit like lvl 3 or so they can be told it's okay to leave but to try bringing a friend for safety.

At lvl 8 though you should have an idea of where everything in EA is though.

Well if more gms come around then maybe they could help in newbie zone and tell them all they need 2 know about IIA, or maybe set it up so there is another map for spawning, like a mixed city where you start and can do the beginin of crests and stuff that helps players learn the mechanics. I guess we will see what happens as time goes by.

Boomtown would be good just to make our small community seem larger. That way newbs of all races can help each other and team together.

Maybe if there was a clone version of the racial leaders in boomtown, and only the crest quests were there... but also still in iia so people would have to leave once they get to the point that they want non-drop equipment.

Well you dont really need clone race leaders, all you wwould have to do is set up some bots that describe the game, and tell them about IIA, almost like N00bzone does.

I dont really like BT being considered another noob zone. I rather it be the way it was before. And i believe the Devs still have a separate idea about wat they r goin to do with BT..Remember there is still a arena to be made.

Noob zone could use some work though. Possibly making it longer so you can get a feel for the game, maybe some audio that tells you things because a lot of people don't like to read and then ***** and moan about how the game doesn't tell you how to do anything even after being disproved. Personally I like IIA being the main place, and if anything, maybe you get your first one or two gidions/crests/badges at noob zone that are autoloots so you actually have to go through it to play.

A help button on the esc menu might work too, giving it an FAQ where immature 12 year old questions like "I didn't bother reading the beginning and clicking doesn't move me. Tell me how to move [British word for cigarette]?", "I didn't bother reading the quest because I'm an all knowing genius, what am I supposed to do?", "OMFG I clicked on a monster but I didn't auto attack, wtf?!?!", and other such things like that, but better worded so it sounds like it came from at least a mature 12 year old that we want ingame as opposed to the immature 12 year old we don't want ingame.

Maybe have the bots in newbzone actaully talk, that way they dont have to read, i think thats what u were saying blank but idk =p.
But I liked newbzone, and the people who WERE NEW in booster did. However about 100% of the people from gold despised it.
I say we bring boomtown back, the way it was but you can't go to IIA till lvl 11. That way u are use to droping ur items, and you have more experiance. Also you could turn boomtown into a housing zone. Like before the caves, etc.

I agree I miss boomtown. Mostly I just wish there were more GMs because, they never read (reply) my posts for help and I feel really ignored like the "we'll listen to players" was just talk. I've bumped my bug thread on forgral several times but, still no help.

With the forgal just wait till Jason or some1 gets on.
That quest was bugged for me back in alpha, maybe its one of them they havent gotten to.
Another idea for Housing is AK... Maybe make a couple housing islands =).
As for an arena i liked HB idea, an island that floats overland.
But back to boomtown.
I say take out ash, add a weak version of frube or something where ash was, and try and make it so you can't ledge with lauders... New comers got money way 2 fast that way...
Add an island in the middle of the lake and have one npc there that is for all races, but is selective, so if you're ap it tells you about MC and what the benifits are of being an AP
If you HM it tells you.... and so on.
Maybe make a arena where you can spawn a certain creature, like say you wanted to test you're skills and fight frube in an area where Ledging isnt possible *Something like a box* then you spawn him and enter, people can join in, bla bla bla, but only one spawn at a time and it only lasts 3 hours. Maybe make levels so n00bs dont enter and get faced with shad or something. Take runes away from these, and add just gold. Like 1k per 2000 hp.
That would be cool for clans etc.

I liked also that in Boomtown Sial was in a mushroom hut away from mobs, the new Sial is crazy to get to if you're a newbie. Plispon was still pretty hard to get to in boomtown with the rigprions but easier to get someone to aggro them or lure them away. How many people actually sit there and read what Plispon has to say, I think most just click next until they die by jousters. But yeah, we'll just have to wait and see what they decide to do with the BT map, if they decide not to make it boomtown again it might be a good idea to rename it like... Jasonville or something creative.

lol victor i dont think anyone does, ive complained about that a lot =p. Not the Infant Stount but about Sial and the nearby jouster.
They want quests to be hard, but the stount quest is a little 2 hard for a lvl 2 ss... Maybe put him in a place with a killer flob . That would equal out a lot better than jousters and DJ's...... Guess the jousters need feed ^_^.

An arena like that that spawns a mob to "test your skills" could be used as cheap training. Granted you actually have to be there, but it's far more difficult to actually go to Frube and fight what's in there than it is to go to some unprotected (by mobs) island and spawn something where you can't ledge.

As far as boomtown, it's always been known as boomtown. As the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It being in game-- maybe it is something being considered, I don't know. It's more of a hang out for players like four falls. The place before that was HC vault with Bluegirl. Things change in this game all the time. Maybe it will change to include boomtown.

but which boomtown? the one with the ships or the one before that?

I dont mean to poop on everyones post....BUT.... Bringing back BT will once more turn Trendor into a ghost town.

If everyone wants BT so bad give it to them, Just make it a PvP friendly zone exempt from lvl 12 PK protocalls. WITH THE ONLY SZ INSIDE ONE OF THE STORES!!! If ya want, make it so you dont lose your stuff when you die....How about that???

I agree we should bring back boom town, hell we have 2 versions of it that could easily be made into questing areas.

We have a few other maps not yet released to player that will be coming out soon.

Perhaps one of the first quests in the mainworld is a quest that brings you to boom town or somethin, I dunno.
