yup, it blows
i can't get out of the noobie zone. the piece of crap hangs up on that pretty water zone file. nice gfx but you can't play without a high end vid card. i want to play, not gaze at the scenery.

I'd hardly call 64 MB of video RAM "high end."
Try getting the map from someone, or have someone host it somewhere so you can download it. =)

Talking with Aaron we are looking at
Minimum Sytem Requirments
1.4 GHz Processor
256MB RAM
64MB Graphics
Recomended
1.7 GHz Processor
512MB RAM
128MB Graphics
We are going to have to do quality assurance test throughout Beta to make sure that this is the case. You being on the low end, you may end up being my test case to make sure every area runs as efficent as possible. Fill me in on what your system specs are if ya don't mind. Aaron and I are masters of efficency,

ok, i have the same problem as samo, currently i have only heard of this problem when you are using a integrated intel vid card, as the game just isnt completely compatible with it just yet because intel is retarded. So what vid card are you using so they can try and figure out the problem.
and my vid card is 256mb, so the power isnt the problem, as i am sure is the same for you.

blegh, where did you get 64Mb from? You do a good job of giving out info most of the time, but in this case you suck. Bottom line is the game won't run on the average computer. It's ****ed up...you know it and I know it. Stop being a punk.

ATI X1550 Graphics card not supported? - Endless Ages - Your Journey Begins - Project Tools
apperantly high end cards have trouble playing this as well, so maybe its a driver issue or power issue? otherwise you could save up like 50$ and get like an ATI Radeon X800 Pro like mine, tho mine sux, or you could get a 50-100$ Nvidia card

I have 2 other computers, and in each computer my I passed down my old gfx card. ATI 9200 SE, and a 6800 nvidia.
Both have 128 MB ram. That 9200 is 3 generations old man, don't fool yourself.
a 64 MB card is old news. Go buy something better with 50 bucks, if the game means enough to you. The new water effect obviously upped the requirements as it includes shaders, unless you can switch the effects off, you're out of luck looks like.
You'll just scorn those who offer you truth though, woot woot.

-_- If he knew that you were right he obviously wouldnt of said something different.. My computer sux, and is 5-6 years Old.. and Endless Ages Runs Perfect On My cpu.. So before you start accusing people of being punks, and wrong.. Mabey you should get your broke ass to a CPU store if you really wanna play this game.. Bottom line -- Get your Facts straight before you make accusions....................

This game doesn't have high requirements at all because it looks like sh*t... if you cant run it your computer is probably from the 90s. It looks terrible but it's still fun

<--- runs fine on a sempron 3100 (1.8Ghz clock) with a geforce 6600 GT... which IS a goddamn old rig.
EDIT : mmhhh i don't agree with Blobz tho, EA doesn't look terrible in my eyes. Besides, on those games (FPS), the *only* important thing is smoothness/fast pace i think...
EDIT2 : and since it's also a MMOG, it needs to be smooth and fast paced on *most* rigs.

my water looks the same as it did back in the day... and i still can't hear any music no matter where i go. oh well, at least i'm not the noob attacking people trying to help them.
i made my PC about 5 years ago. i run a intel P4 at 2.x GHz(i think.. somewhere around there) Geforce Ti4400 or something like that. i'm at work so i don't remember whats in it exactly. but EA runs perfect. maybe some slow load times but thats only because i got 512 RAM. so my advice to you SAMO is to drop dead. if you keep attacking people trying to help you with something you don't understand then thats what you should do.. just drop dead. kkthx

lol, EA only runs on high end computers huh? Since when is an ~4 yr old toshiba laptop with most likely minimum specs high end? Noob zone is harder on your grahpics card than the mainworld, so if you can't go to the mainworld then you don't have the files or something, or you're running a computer windows 95/98 specs and windows XP/vista software that can't handle large maps. The specs will be going up I'm sure, but nowadays, computers run on 2.2 GHz processors as about standard, maybe 1.8 GHz (compared to .750 GHz [or 750 MHz for the math incapable], that's over 1 GHz faster (aka a lot faster)). Video cards usually have like 128 MB or 256 MB on them, unless they leech off of your RAM, which you now get 2 Gigs on any computer you buy with Vista. So your computer should be able to handle, cause even Bleghs boulder can handle it.

The waterzone issue comes from the old version of water textures.
We're working to remove the old water from mainworld and adding the newly textured water to the main world.
My laptop (New Sony Vaio) has an intel integrated graphics card and has the same issue as Samo and Deathlight.
Randomly it will work and allow me to play, but will eventually bug and leave me unable to play the game outside of the newbie zone, boom town, and IIA South which all have new water texture models.

Just putting in my comment.... I have a computer with 256mb ram 1.33 ghz and a very very crappy graphics card. EA runs perfect(except for dl game/patch and loading mainworld and stuff...and right when I get ingame) theres may be a few slow spikes here and there but if I can survive it you can...And you really should buy a new graphics card if you cant load some textures. You could probly buy a card off ebay for like $5
graphics card from ebay for $5 that allows EA

I got it from AleinInDLand, one of the devs who work on this game. Read the quoted post, and the link back to his original post. I can run Endless Ages perfectly fine on my 64 MB vram desktop, although it gets laggy with a low FPS at times.
As for the comments directed towards me in that post... Well, there's been enough said in the above posts. I'll just ignore them.

I played on a desktop with 1.8GHz P4 and an old 256mb AGP video card, EA is the most lightweight 3d game I have ever played, no runescape doesn't count.

well, runescape is Java, so it's a bit of a resource hog, albeit not much.

Haha in what 3rd world country is "64mb vid" the average computer lol. Maybe in 2001
And your using an integrated vid card? Well no wonder,, you dont even deserve to play games :P
You shouldn't get mad at the game because your mommy wont buy you another computer... Not the games fault.

For the record I have 256Mb of video RAM, not 64. Point is I never mentioned it anywhere, it was assumed by some who replied. Sorry I lashed out at you Blegh.
And thank you Jason and Triad for your even handed answers.
And btw, the game runs great, in the noobie zone.

This is what the game does with a 2.1 Ghz processor with 1 gig of RAM and 256 meg of vid memory. Same thing Phylon did. Please don't repost some devs bogus minimum requirements. I have a brand new computer that runs everything but this game. Fix it or figure out what it takes to run it.

Vista runs on the specs posted above and lower, your error is a completely different issue that we are trying to fix. As the person who actually owns the game has the same problem, I'm sure it will get fixed. Keep in mind that this has nothing to do with graphics abilties, because the world you are trying to zone to and having problems is actually less stressful than the newbie zone.
