tcpPortUrl Read Failed

Hi all, I used to play in the beta for EA back many years ago - when I found out it was being re-released I was excited!

However.

Overnight I downloaded the installer and fullpatch from Filefront. I deleted the files which were in the stickied thread above.

When I try to log in, for one there's no severs in the server list (is it always like that?(or are the servers down?)).

Anyway I've disabled norton + norton fire wall, and enabled all scripts via IE and Firefox but I still get this message flash up

Code:
starting up:ENDLESS
GetUrlData() FAILED:http://74.86.231.14/contentmanager.aspx?server_x=1&access_type=all
Followed by "Cannot connect to content Game Server" or something. I would have thought maybe my firewall was blocking it but it's disabled.

Anyone have any ideas? maybe a solution? I checked all relevent threads and searched for any hints but most of them just say to disable norton.

Many thanks.

The servers aren't down, I was just on. it might even be a security issue with windows, maybe you have to open the port up for it or something. Im still waiting to be able to get my HM out of trendor because it won't download, and I think it has something to do with the security from windows.

No idea, but it could also be your internet connection is bad or messed up a little, try to repair it or something. also, if EA was working earlier, try to restart your computer

If you do not see a server on the server list, try to install the patch manually from the FileFront page. It should work afterwards.

I did download the fullpatch.exe from filefront originally.

At the same time as the installer in fact.

I managed to login after a reboot, however the client crashed and I'm having the same problem.

Something is blocking access from my EA to my computer.

I've disabled Norton, Windows Defender and Windows firewall is off (as usual) anyone got any ideas what else it could be?

[edit] Just opened port '1050' which according to the CCGameApp.txt is the patcher port and still no changes

http is normally port 80, but that is most likely open. Make sure you disable norton internet security entirely, that suite causes massive problems with anything but the norm. Check windows firewall settings, and check that your router is not also using a firewall of its own.
