im just wondering is the server up? im getting this installing client files...please wait message on startup, im not sure if my EA is borked or not. i've reinstalled it twices and shutoff the firewall i still get that message in the startup window.

edit: order of installation, EA-setup, patch1.04, patch 1.05, patch 1.06

Recent update, probably. When I launched, it, the patcher went through that screen, updated, then went back to the original screen. There have been patches AFTER 1.06, but the manual patch has not been released yet. I guess you'll have to either get the files from someone, wait for the manual patch with the latest updates, or somehow get your patcher to work by itself =)

Have you tried disabling any firewalls that might be blocking your connection to EA? Also, programs such as Norton Internet Security must be disabled when the game starts up. You can re-enable them after the game loads.

yes, i have disabled all firewall including the windows firewall. what puzzles me is that this game worked fine with the firewall turned on. i have played on and off for the past week with the current configuration only experiencing some CI's other than that i had no other problems. but all of a sudden its not working.

u had to install ea-livesetup.exe then install the patches


setup.exe was a while ago.

Hello. I am new I have not even played yet. but I got a question. I have made a account and all of that stuff but what is the server names? I need a server name to play.

Erm, if u get no server name that is not a good sign...means u can't really connect to it. Check ur firewall and disable it to see if that helps.

Riskbreaker, I would start over and install ea-livesetup.exe, the one you get from the front page of teh website.

well I took my firewall down. and I even checked with my bro that went to college on computers. but I am still getting no server name or list. what is wrong?

ah. ok. well that is proble the answer. but just a update on what I can do. I take off the firewall and no servers are listed (reason above) but if I just click next it takes me to a loading screen. is this the way to get to the game? if so then something is really wrong because I can get their but as it is verifying things it messes up. and it freezes. it seems like it is trying to do 2 verifications at once but it is freezing itself and making me restart my computer. is that because the server is down or what?if not what can I do to fix it???

Eliwa u have 2 press ctrl + Q 2 exit when the sever is down and u cant get in.

LordofWar i have reinstalled soo many times i've lost count. has something changed on the server side particularly the networking side of things. i have disabled the firewall and i have no AV atm and it still wont connect. where as previously it worked perfectly fine when i was behind Comodo.

ok i have now tested this on 3 computer including my main desktop. and all 3 have the same result one of them is my laptop which has vista. im starting to think that its not the computer at all. only point all 3 have in common is the router. i have a linksys wrt54gl with dd-wrt firmware. could someone please tell me what port ea uses?

Well, if it worked before, the problem is probably due to one of the latest updates. Wait for the manual patch 1.07 and try that when it comes out =)

see now I got a problem. I got the new launcher and then it allowed me to log in a few more times but the next day later (today) I got on and started playing then all the sudden it froze and kicked me off then I tried getting back on and when it tries loading it does not show the loading symbol and when it tries connecting every time it says Unable to connect to server.

Is the server down or what?

well now it is not that. now it says I am already logged on. what can I do to fix that?

It WAS down. Now I believe you have been hit by the infamous login bug, which should have been fixed by now, but I guess not... Hmmm. The only solution I know, if you have indeed been hit by this bug, is to wait for the next server reboot (next update/crash/whenever).

It would seem to me like you're missing that file. Try installing the manual patches. This should fix your problem. Instructions:

1- Download ea-livesetup.exe, run it.
2- Download and implement the manual patches IN ORDER.
