I'm not sure if this will be the best source of income for this game but i tried lol. I kinda got inspired from Hellbinders idea of having a last man standing tourney this weekend. So...my idea is, what if we held some sort of last man standing thing, capture the flag event, etc. once a month or once a week BUT to be in the event, players must pay a certain amount? For example, Last Man Standing $10, Capture The Flag $5 a round (again just throwing possible numbers out there), and the winner(s) of the events each month or week get a prize. For example, a high lvl weapon, or a polycycle/hoverbike, or like 1 million credits (or 5 million) for in game use, or they can choose from 3 different prizes but can only pick one? Anyways, i think it might be a good idea. Everyone let me know what you think about it.

Love the idea bro. This idea has the potential to be very fun and work well.

Imagine 100 people sign up at 10$ each, winner get an item of their choice. 2nd and 3rd place also get an item, but a predefined one.

Have one of these each weak, then at the end of each month the 4 winners from each week compete for a grand prize.

A lot of possible ideas to go along with this, but it'd need to be setup right. We need a dedicated event GM, I'll talk with Oogie and run this idea by Brandon (Silent)

well I don't think they'll make it $10 for a tournament unless its gonna be very long/lot of events or the prize is worth more then $10. Maybe like $5 max? heck think about it, if around 50 people pay a buck then that'll probly be more then what the average player spends a month.

hmmm... if they do this tournament. What modes do you guys think there should be? I vote for ctf, (team) deathmatch, and a sort of mission mode (like assault in UT).

true, but think about it, if we had one event a month at $10 to play in the event, thats really not that much. Or, if we had a weekly event, it could be something like $5 a week? Cuz then you would only be spending $5 a month if you decided to only participate in 1/4 of the events. Now if you decided to participate in like 2 event, 3 event, etc. that would be $10, $15, etc. per month. So it kinda leaves your options open for you

Thats what this game needs a public weekly tounament.

We need more custom items though. Like customize the armors with various colors and patters. Stuff like that.

You could actually create a few different sets of "Tournament armor". that is only attainable by winning the tournament or series of tournaments for really high level armors. The armors would be *the uber* armor in the game. Could do weapons to.

hmmm... just got an idea... what hell said about custom armor... see if like pepsi or somebody would buy ad space? I know, I know, but if you could sell ad space on the armor... well thats just more money right? Plus It'll kinda feel like a sport!...... I'm gonna get flamed for this huh? lol XD

just some more ideas for this,

this could be held in an arena, in order to get in you have to purchase 1 of 2 tickets, a combat ticket or a spectator ticket. the arena could have ledges around some of the walls for the spectators to stand on and watch,there would be a combat staging area on the floor for the combatants.
to help see who's who in there maybe the spectators would have to wear their tickets on their armor or something like that,and any spectator entering the combat staging area is ejected from the arena,just to keep people from starting trouble.
at the end of the tournament there could be like a free for all with combatants and spectators and /or maybe a spawn event inside aswell or maybe a last man standing from everybody in there.
also maybe the winners from each week get to have their name up in lights outside the arena (for bragging rights)

beeper - i like your idea about advertising but the ads cant be really big or else it will just look tacky, SO, maybe on the backs of the chest armor there could be a small pepsi logo or some other company logo? noone really sees the back of your character anyway XD

SKA - i like the idea of being able to change the color of your lvl 15 armor as well.

Demoralyzer - another great idea! also, the spectators could pay like $1 or $2.50 to watch? half of an event ticket if it was $5 to participate for that event. I also like the "name up in lights idea" for bragging rights

If you wanted to sell advertising space in game it would be better to create billboards inside HC (as an example). Would be much more easy to implement than armor adverts. Also because it would be inside somewhere like HC it wouldn't clutter up the main game world. HC has alot of wall space for that kind of thing since it is a large area.

Before anything, the ss hp exploit and any other bugs (shooting, etc) giving player advantage has to be fixed.

It'd be nice to have an arena working for this tournament. Maybe an interactive scoreboard system would be nice as well (is that even possible?).

Well you do have a really good point. In the end it does come down to the choice of either adding new content first or fixing current bugs first. We may end up with players abusing these bugs when the new content comes in, and that will really give them a greater advantage. This did happen quite a bit with the old team in the past. They added new towns and even magic to try to attract more people when there were so many bugs that needed to be fixed (such as the datro clipping, thank goodness that is fixed now). I guess it is also good to know the point of diminishing returns, which I am most likely not aware of (person who writes the code is probably the best at knowing that).

And that is why we have GM's in place. you the players know that this stuff is happening and if it's not reported the exploits stay in place and the players get the advantage. if you know that someone is exploiting you can always post a private pm to a GM for us to research it and see what's happening.

Hmmm I already mentioned this before but no one responded i will say it again... If any of u play Xbox Live u will probably know the MLG right? And the people who have Xbox Live will have a good internet connection right? Wat if we get the MLG to sponosor us or advertise us over Xbox Live? Maybe then we could turn EA into an Xbox Live game it would fit in well maybe the controls might need adjusting but hey if not we could still get sponosorship or advertisement space!
