I just DLd the game, got patch, fixed the patch trouble.

When I launch the game, I get the small box with UPDATING** Client files

I let it sit for a few hours and it didnt change...

Can someone help me?

Broken record here, check your firewall settings. Also i've honestly never seen a reason to delete autoexec.aut if you applied the full patch from filefront.

I turned my firewall off and it is still doing the same thing.

I DL'd the client from the 3rd link.. Then got the ea patch from FileFront.

ill try reinstalling.

.... you have to delete two files from 2 different folders. For some reason they mess up the starting of the game, including patching.

I use windows xp and Vista. On the xp box, even though I do not run the firewall, I still had to add the axp and the exe file to the list of approved programs. As soon as I did, the update processed and I was on in no time. Sounds dumb since the firewall is off, but it still effects the launching of programs.

On the Vista, I had to manually apply the patches from the other download. Ever since I have had minimal problems connecting and playing.

i have not had any problems with vistas firewall or even UAC, when it comes to EA, hell almost every game i have tried even the vista approved store bought games give me hell, but EA never gave me a problem that was caused by vista.

It installs 2 shortcuts, an EndlessAgesR, and Play Endless Ages,, if I do the EndlessAgesR it hangs like that. Maybe try other one?

I think they link to the same program...they just have to fix the installers to make only 1 icon...I had like 6 icons before lol.

If one works and one doesn't, use the one that works, its worth a try

talking of errors and what not...On my friends comp, whenever he tries to run the game it says ACgameAPP failure or something that doesnt all him to play with all file and update and with all but those 2 files and update...nothing...even tried deleting it just for fun and it still did it =D

I could never find that file, hmm i might need 2 download that new patch, havent bothered with it tho becuase its fine without it, well other than not being able 2 see the names and black loading screen =p.
