Moral Ethics
Often we see people put in jail or punished in someway for doing something wrong. But who is the judge of whats right and wrong? Im a christian and i believe that right and wrong are set values that do not change at any time for any reason. Do we define our morals or do they define us?
What is truely ethical and what is just plain crap. Wheres the line? Who or what defines the ultimate line between right and wrong ? Is there an overall right or wrong? I personally think the bible defines it. What is freedom and what is it price and what is its restrictions? Comments are welcomed.

Knowing about ethics does not mean that one will always end up doing the morally correct thing. However, it makes you more capable of explaining your actions.

There is no right or wrong morally speaking, only what the people as a collective agree upon to be so.

well the fact that there is a correct right and wrong universally (or i believe so) matters little because we make decisions soley depending on what we think is right or wrong and if other people feel differently then they act based upon what they believe they must do.

morals change from person to person, and situation to situation.
unless you are walking with the Lord, and actively being transformed into his image day by day.. then you have the rules and morals that have been set by the Bible.
im not sure morals is the correct word use here, but you know what im sayin either way.

This would lead to believeing that there is no set right or wrong leading to the conclusion that right and wrong are determined by how we define them. Effectively saying that it is right to kill as long as you think its right and utimatly leading to chaos. Makes you really think about how people want to define the world.

The part in bold is why you got the reaction you did. Just because someone doesn't believe in god doesn't mean they are incapable of having a good natured moral code. In fact, those who follow a concrete set of rules are the ones most responsible for some of the more ****ed up events in history (crusades, witch burnings, terrorist bombings). Honestly, I bet if Jesus woke up tomorrow he'd be ****ed.

*sighs* srry for even bringing this up its a targeted concept that i should hav shut up about. By this i ment that some scientists that study evolution cannot prove that there right.Much of the scientific world is - believe what we want you to or your fired! If you want to know more about how scientist are losing there jobs unfairly see Expelled the movie.

I have to agree with ultramankill, just because one isnt christian doesnt mean one cant lead life with a good set of morals on there back. In essence I've known christians that are just as ****ed up as the next person. I myself have no religion and live by my own set of morals( I dont wanna be another drone to a one side story ).
Anyways right and wrong have been changing for a long time, basically being refined by our society overtime. From slavery, to womens rights, to small things like not killing endangered species. Just a few examples in the US history. Not the best, but im sure long long long ago killing at one point in time was accepted, before we even had a basic language(cavemen). So think about it.

I do it
Gold - This forum is for EA only. While I enjoy a good discussion as much as the next person, this is not the time and especially not the place.
Nothing personal.
