installation Problem - Endless Ages

ok its late here, almost midnight and I hafta get up at 5am, so I really didn't take time to browse the forums. my problem is during the installation, the initial "preparing for installation" process, the bgreen bar ,moves across the screen. then the whole thing just "POOF" disappears.
I am not really sure what happens, no error messages or anything. I even uninstalled it, and re-downloaded it from another mirror. I still have the same issue.."POOF" and it's gone.
Could someone please enlighten me...

check to make sure there is no firewall up for on for starters. Looks like the initialization process can't get past something to initiate the down load

It closes before the installation process is complete? I'm a little unclear on the problem here.

Ok if you are using pc tools antivirus or there tools at all the new updates is doing this to some programs. It stopped my 3d max from running for one. You have to uninstall the programs completely to be able to use any app that is having trouble disabling it does not work.
What it does is the process will start up run for a few then just crash to desktop. Please let me know if that helps I have also heard that some programs like avg are having the same trouble with there new updates.

I disabled the firewall b4 installing, and the same thing happened again. and yes the installation is interrupted once the green bar reaches the end with no errors coming up.

Sounds like your having Windows Installer Errors.
