EA is way to hard to get into
I played EA back years and years ago and loved it so I thought id give it a try and sadly the learning curve on this game is INSANE. There is almost zero help for new players it's next to impossible to figure out the vague quests, with no in game map you forget the location of the npc's that give you the quests, the quest journal is a joke, and to make things worse the community generally isn't helpful as they have all played this game for years and either wont help n00bs or help with directions that make no sense to someone that doesn't know the game. It just seems like EA is really not setup for new players and that may explain why you have such a miniscule player base and such a lack of cash flow. Now maybe I'm just grouchy because I spent an hour flying around trying to find the npc that gave me a quest after spending 2 hours looking for a stupid canister and I'm only lvl 3 but at this point I just feel like its not worth it this game is way to hard for new players.
and thats my rant goodnight all

The learning curve for Endless Ages is pretty steep, but once you get over the initial troubles you realize it's pretty simple.
Also, newbie help is a bit of an issue. I've noticed that at times, questions will go ignored. This game is in no way easy, and many parts are frustratingly hard. Usually your best bet is too approach someone with a clan tag, and ask them for help while they're at a store or bank.
This way, you know they're back and they're not in the middle of hunting a rare drop when you ask your question.
Here is a map of the world of IIA:
There are a lot of other great resources on the links to your right. EA Central and EA vault are especially good.

ya I know it does get easier I did play before I think I just got lucky then and found a few people and a clan (swat) that really helped me out back then. I got to lvl 16 or so but this time through I've forgotten what I knew and I'm really just lost I'm a froggy and got the pilot quest and for the life of me can't find the canister I found the 2nd lesson canister but can't find that 1st one and now I cant even find the npc that gave me the quest. I'm just getting very aggravated, for me its just a bump in the road cause I know how the game goes as I've played it before but I really think they need to revamp some stuff because right now I'm seeing it through the eyes of a completely new player and man is it rough.

Your piloting quest is useless at level 3 anyway. Worry more about getting yourself to the point where it's necessary and can be done a little easier. If I were you I'd be hunting crosps in 4falls to the right of the exit. Stay on the ledge were they can't hit you/climb and blast away at them for a few levels. YOu'll sky rocket to 6 or 7 and can then get your stonetrile.

Things have changed. Things are changing. If you remember the old EA, then you know more than anyone, the game is worth the challenge. Yes, it's a new interface and with all things new it takes time to get used to.
Suggestions on how to make things better is always welcome. Hope you stick around to see what's in store for players.

True there r aspects of this game tht r VERY challenging...but isnt everyone also saying its too easy and getting boring fast cuz they pwned it already? I believe the challenge is needed or else we will all PWN the game hard the my hero Samuel L Jackson pwned the snakes on the plane.
Thank you!

Yeah everyone I have seen saying this is easy has previous experience. Being a little nooblet like myself is really tough I haven't leveled in days cause I am struggling finding mobs. With 90% of my questions going unanswered its even tougher. But I have noticed that people are silent about drops and whatnot and so that leads me to believe fan sites will be at a minimum as well. I have to say this game has been more intriguing than any other I have tried in a long time though.

you should really check the huge list of fansites on the right side of the forum. They're chock-full of information, and while some of it might not be current, it's a step in the right direction.
As for drops, you'll find that clan's try to keep that info privvy to themselves to keep a one up on one another in PVP. Find yourself a clan and ask them about what to do. If you get to join do it.
Being in a clan makes this game a lot easier and is essential for protection from other players in later levels. Just having certain tags in your name can run off would be pkers. Especially if it means that'll said pker will be subject to a gang beating.
They of course can help you with heals, quests, and getting your drops.

SKA of course, tries his best, but usually winds up on the bottom of an N.W.A. style beatdown.

I'm always willing to help assuming I'm available/on. But yea, most clans will keep rare drop info as secret as possible so fewer people know. But when you're in a clan/make one you get the same rights =P

Should I then consider level 8 armor rare? Or just people don't bother with it?

Yeah, I started playing when BoomTown was around, so It's taking me a while to fully grasp IIA, but I think i've gotten the hang of it.

Glad to hear Demoman. It does take a little bit to get used to but once you get the hang of it, it's almost second nature.
hope to see you guys around soon.

The problem with getting "used" to the lack of information in Endlessages is that you cant get used to it.. Information isn't some thing that you can make pop into your head, there isn't a training method to teach someone how to learn lack of information.
Even if you could get used to a lack of information, (which again is absolutely imposable as previousely stated) new players want a easy to understand and learn user interface (to me this includes locations and quest information). Endlessages was, is, and will always be the best damn online game and game in general, this is an opinion on someone who has played the game for a long long time up till recently. However, a new player would find the game frustrating and dull.
a few ways to help change a new players first impression would be to:
1) Add an ingame map with a llot of detail.
2) EXACT NPC locations (for at lest noob quests up till Non drop weapons and armor quests) and general zone locations for certin things such as a canister or crate that was lost or a lost NPC you have to locate so on.
3) Well writen beginer guides.
That is really all that EA needs to help turn a new players first impression from "F#$K this game" to "GOD DAMN ENDLESSAGES IS AWESOME!!!."
