Catacombs

Totally rediculous.. Pids and other mobs insta spawn and hit way harder than they do in other areas for the same mob. Wayyyy too much for lvl 11 and 12's. Area's where lvl 15's go not that bad. Needs lightened a tad.

You gotta SS or have a group.

There are some ways to get around in there. Use a Rune Polycycle for traveling. Almost everything hits rune damage. Eyezoras will hit 30 death, but without the poly's res, they would hit 100+ rune. If you're not using the poly, use the water to avoid agroing mobs. Also, If a mob does follow you in, it will sink to the bottom, and you can simply go to the other side, or swim away. As for the pidions, use a grision orb if you have one. Approach quickly (so the skarshar and clidions behind you don't catch up) and shoot them as you go. With 600hp, they die quickly. If you need to kill eyezoras, bring a friend to loot them with a rune poly. Looting makes you an easier target, and the eyezoras' rune damage really hurts. Catas isn't too hard in my opinion. Wait until CoA and 14 and 15 dungeons.

The catacombs has been tweaked in the past couple weeks, as far as I can tell. I no longer get bombarded by the farions upon entering, and I am no longer constantly red screened by the aimbot eyezoras in their room. I agree that mob respawn rate appears to be faster in the catacombs, as I can never survive long enough to loot the eyezoras I do kill in there. If people/devs want to say that is just part of what makes the dungeons harder, I can somewhat understand that, but as a mainly solo player I am hoping for a little more tweaking. I've been kinda just twiddling my thumbs doing other things waiting for the polys to be fixed, hoping that they will be enough to survive in there.

If you ask me, if the mob respawn rate was slowed a bit, that final tweak would be enough for me to think the catacombs is finally balanced. Balanced in that a lvl 12 player that has no death protection for the eyezoras, and has never seen a gris to kill for their orb, could survive long enough to move on. (Yeah I know those items are available every now and again in the auction, but I am thinking only of the normal progression a player makes that doesn't shortcut their way through the game by buying things in advance)

I found the only way to do the Eyezoras was with a clannie who had a grision. I hid in the little tunnel under the water and he blasted them out of the air. You really do need a clan to get through this game.

There is ample room to move in Cattacombs, no mobs prevent you from going anywhere. You just have to learn to avoid. This is very hard as a bloblic, especially in pidion room so I generally run an ean through there to the water hallway before eyezora room and jump around between water sides to avoid pidion fire till they forget about me.

Alterantively you can pay 2 buck and get a skoid skroll so you can run as fast as an ean and have your protections too.

EDIT: Just wait till Stone Maze, you'll tear your hair out.
