Tokens weren't used for armor pieces =)

Tokens, near the end of the game, were mainly event prizes. These could be exchanged for special weapons, armor pieces, and various other items, including dual weapons for HM's, special resistance helms and weapons for AP's, weapons for blobs, tennis skirts for HF's, and death channel shapeshift armor for Cribuant races (Valdron and Klondon).

If the token concept is reinstated, it will probably have different uses, for different items, seeing as we'll only have 3 (4) channels.

tokens made it feel like a private server for a korean game. events are nice but there should be a more creative reward system.

I always liked hunting/questing my own armor/weapons, and from what I can see here other people agree that's cool =)

In 'Gold' after you did your 14 and 16 gun and leveled to use it, you got a sense of pride it truly was a big accomplishment and well worth it.

Well, my opinion being since we are getting the 'Booster' models with a 'Gold' channel system I think it would be cool to see some of the fun stuff you could get in the AK Vendors from quests or rare drops. Depending on what quest/drop difficulties we will be getting, I personally can't wait to see how they difficulties will be set up thats always fun.

And for event rewards I think it would be cool to get like EXP in the skill of your choice.

Well thats Impacts 2 rusted pennies worth.

Yeah and the events where more rare then the tokens them selfs.... I can remember being in like 2 out of 4 token events..

tokens were cool
because it basically let you choose the prize you get for winning an event
so you usually get something you like.
and tis not like tokens were teh ONLY prize they gave out
they had other special prizes you couldnt get with tokens too
i dont see why you would take a feature OUT of game
with tokens a GM could hop on, throw an event and the prize was simple, nothing so complex that only a dev could host something

yea most people probably dont want it because it was too hard for them to win them
those who got tokens liked their items
and changing the prize from an event wont make it any more likely for players to win
so they want something else thinking it will be easier

most the token items on the game probably came from the vendor under BT that someone found lol, tokens items were cool but it was the means to get them that was the problem imo. anything can be a prise on an event but those items could have quests to go with them and that would be much better imo

yea but if you can get the items in a quest...
why bother at all
they are prizes at events because thats the only place they are attainible
i personally wouldnt bother with events if i could just quest the item
because then the item isnt "special" or "unique"

I dislike tokens. Rare items should be earned, not won.

but any item that can be earned...is not rare
as anyone can go out, and earn it themselves
only special event prizes were rare
adn they were earned by winning

Yeah, but most of the time winning meant "find the GM." Voila, you received a token. Rare items or special items, in my opinion, should be quested or dropped.

I hated seeing newbies with death helms after a "hide and seek" game in BT...

personally i don't think the only decent hunting gun for APs should be left to winning events and getting tokens. that was total bull**** cause having to hunt with wrights with a rune gun or some **** like because the only other normal gun is level 5 took forever.

I have to agree. I'm not pointing fingers, but it was all too easy to see that leaving players(GMs) in charge of who would or would not get tokens is not a perfect system. Seems that it would be too easy for a GM to play favorites and decide when and where to die so that his/her friend would get token above some other player. It had nothing to do with who did the most dmg or survived the longest, usually it was who was in the right place at the right time.

i missed **** loads of events cos of the mad times they were always hosted, time zones have to be thaught about and i stay awake till like 2-3 in the morning just to get a token. i think i took part in about 6 events that had tokens as rewards in the whole time i played and only got 4 tokens( i had to buy all my others and got a couple as gifts) it sucked every time i couldnt get to an event. tokens realy ****ed me off i would rather do a nice fun long quest for the item and play fun events for credz ,if i couldnt make the event i can get credz other ways, same cant be sead if prise was tokens.
