I'm composing an email with my business partners right now to see if I can get some information on what has happened to RR, Phylon and the Game Engine. My hope is that we can acquire Endless Ages, The Game Engine and possibly Phylon from them and once again bring Endless Ages, and its uniqueness back to the community.
This is purely speculation, but in my opinion it looks as if RR is completely gone as they have posted no news or updates to any of their customers and haven't even responded to email inquiries from myself and 2 other business partners.
We'll see how it goes.

I never really got to try out Phylon, so I couldn't say what should or shouldn't be kept...
My only remembrance of Phylon is being slaughtered by Flobs over and over and over and over again.

I never experienced any horrible flob based deaths in phylon. The world they made in phylon was somewhat good, I speficially liked the big wrecked space ship in the first area, but the problem is that all the quests made no sense whatsoever.
You could start any quest at any time with no idea what it was for many times. For instance a quest would give you a reward of pictures, and these pictures were used for another quest elsewhere, but you usually had to just stumble upon this other quest. And somehow this mess of quests would lead up to a reward, in endless ages quests had a starting point, and often branched from there leading you to several npcs, but at least you knew it was necessary to continue on through the quest for the item you wanted.
Zoning was also a horrible problem because to get anywhere you had to zone to a centralized hub before zoning further to the zone you wanted to go. This made each zone seem extremely small, and under the impression that they were all a single planet I had to wonder why I could not easily get from one zone to another simply by walking there or crossing an ocean.

I concur with mom, the zoning and the quests were pretty much the worse things about phylon. Even things like shops wern't all that well identified, especially when there were so many different things to buy. You had to go find the right NPC in the right secluded area.

Doors closed.
Everyone fired.
RR go bye bye.
No real rumors to be said really other than most of the team knew the choices of the investors and directors were going to floor the company.

I agree about the multiple zonings in Phylon, very annoying stuff, and the lack of one big "central" map like the main IIA in EA.
But the quest system seemed pretty interesting, except for the lack of a "real" and clear starting point, i kinda liked the possibility to find one's own way to earn quest items, by doing parts of other quests here and there. Big listing / mapping work would have been asked to players in order to enjoy such a system, but still... it seemed full of promises.
Anyway, overall, EA was 10x better than Phylon, despite the tons of work RR's devs (not investors) had put into it, so if any of those games should be revived, i hope it'd be EA.

Phylon blows yo, I did everything they had to offer in that god forsaken game and didnt even give me any credit, then they deleted my account that i paid for in EA to play phylon, and deleted my characters in phylon. then about 2 weeks after they launched gold i went to the website to see what was going on, they had on the bottom of the home page "Page Views and Active Players" now obviously they shouldnt be very high but the numbers were outrageous. "Page views 1million+, Active Players 2000+" hell no. then the next day it went bam and gone.

Phylon wasn't anywhere NEAR as good as the old EA was. Kinda odd how this ended up, took out Original EA to make Phylon and then take Phylon out and considering to put EA back up - in my opinion - we should have never converted from EA1 -> Phylon. Just stix with EA1 pleez, hey - least we dont have the red tags so the lil nubbienubs (no names being said) will SZSnipe is what is best - TY JASON! XD

phylon was gay because my account was blocked before it even started
Then when i paid for the lame game via fileplanet,.. it still was blocked.
Then finally i had it so that i could login,.. but then the ga(y)me wouldn't download the freakin files....
So, after sorting that **** out myself,.. (customer support? wtf''s that?) the game went down.
Loads of effort plus some money spend on some pile of steaming crap that i could've spend more usefull...

Phylon was...... ok...... meaning it was no EA but there is no game out there that comes close to the original EA. Phylon was one last desperate attempt to save RR I guess. IT FAILED HORABILY OBVIOUSELY.
Quests in Phylon where redundant and complex. You had to do several quests over to get one or two pieces for one part of a quest. It was just really redundant complicated and to put it simply... stupid.
Teaming up with RR was a big mistake. It was the last nail in the coffin for EA. First big mistake was Booster, second big mistake was RR. Thats my opinion based off what people have said over the years and just from seeing the player base and game it's self go down the drain ever since, the biggest bugs didn’t come out till RR got a hold of it.

I looked at Phylon but didn't play it. It looked gay. All I found amusing that a girl on there with a tight yellow ass was the only thing that looked good. Didn't appeal to me as such.

Wouldn't know about Phylon. Had account issues. LOL
Either way- the game known as Phylon is no longer in operation. The company producing it is no longer open for business. The reputation is out about Phylon- it ain't good.
