yes in my opinion Boomtown was like home for so long before we got to play as members and were too cheap to pay. Yeah, it was a noob zone but every game needs a good one and it was a place that people could always go to to connect and meet up!. It had everything that you needed as a noob. it had a place for APs, a place for Humans, A place for Blobs and that was good enough at the time. I think that Boomtown should be brought back as sort of a noobzone to replace the current one cause lets be honest the current one kinda blows! so do a little work with it use this thread to generate some interesting changes if you dont like the way it was before but don't kill what boomtown used to be about.

Does anyone read the forums anymore?

Serious, BT will come back, but it won't have the same purpose. No offense but this thread is pretty pointless as it is coming back but it won't be used for newbies.

I think boomtown was the best idea for the free/newbiezone. I think wwithout it, less people will come. there are a lot of features that get people into the game a lot better, i was more displeased when i left boomtown to see that IIA wasnt the same type of *surroundings*. Its the most recent map that i know of, and has the best modeling work than any of the other places. You are actaully able to look a cross the map and see everything =p. Please, bring Boomtown back as the n00bie zone! Instead of the whole 15 day free trial that games like everquest had. The free zone is the best idea, because people get deep in the quests, get high level, well for them, charicters there, and will do almost anything to proceed.

I loved the old boomtown, it had a very unique atmosphere with its day/night cycles. The caves were fun too as there were places you couldn't see at all without flares. It was cool that outside a certain perimeter it was not safezone. Just because you were in the newb area didn't protect you from pkers if you got above 11, which everyone did.

Lots of people would hang out there in between doing other stuff like questing. There was always someone around. I don't see any reason not to have it. The new one has no personality at all and since the idea was to bring back gold and that hasn't happened at all might as well bring back good old boomtown.

Ive never played the *old* boomtown, just hte one in the last EA, booster, so idont know much about it. All i know is that i thought Boomtown as a great addition just the way it was. I like the Pk zone somewhat, and somewhat not. Somewhat becuase it gives players the chance 2 experience the PKing feature outside of arena, somewhat not because PKing outside of Arena should be something that makes people want to go the extra mile and get cit. I REALLY URGE THE TEAM TO BRING BACK BOOMTOWN AS THE NEWBZONE!!! l0l, call me n00b if you want, but im only looking out for the interest of the game.

spirit you would have loved the original boomtown. the art theme and feeling really fit with the main world. the new boomtown is more like air kingdom which is ok but it's a different kind of world. ak is all little floating islands, it's not supposed to get dark.

lol maybe they can bring both versions back :P

The races were not meant to hold happy-funtime together in boomtown. They were ENEMIES, the quests still even show that. Human males and Bloblics were always spying or defying the frog race, and the human females typically sympathized with the frog race. You dont need flares to get around mainworld, thats a bug altogether separate from anything. Wusses.

All that shows they were enemies is quests. There are no games that hold to that line of story line when you can be different races, and they are enemies, there are a few that might, but not very often. The AP is suppose to be graceful and respect the land adn its life, but yet they are the best for PVP and a lot of reds are them. The hell with the *Story* it dosent really matter. What matters is the game =p. the darkness in caves would actually be more realistic, there is no light where darkness prevails.

Ok, something the devs need 2 look at. What majority says no to boomtown, old players, what majority says yes, newer players who wernt in gold. Its the old players who dont like it, Boomtown never hurt EA, it helped it. Some people who got cit stayed in boomtown for all but quests because they didnt like IIA. Its old and out dated, Boomtown is one of the newest additions to EA...

Ok, umm one thing, when was EA in gold? A long time ago, was EA high in graphics for its time? Yes and no, is it now, NOOOO!!!! No1 wants to play old games when there are much better graphics around... That being the mainr eason why not many people played. Not to mention AI failure among other things. How many people stayed in IIA and that area

In other news, people like what they're familiar with. Boomtown brought an age of new players, but it also made the game extremely easy and unrewarding. It never, however brought as many people as the game had when it originally released. You're not arguing for boomtown, you're arguing for what you knew, just as older players are arguing for the opposite. If we leave the game as it was at the end, endgame will be achieved in a few months time(note: some people are endgame already in this alpha, only prevented by broken quests), and complaining will resume. What we aim to do is introduce new content, while keeping existing content challenging, but not impossible.

In short, any new player who came to the game would probably prefer a lack of boomtown, because the standard becomes what you're used to.
