Endless Ages is a great game. To give you the basics, the game is formatted like an MMORPG, with the gameplay of an FPS. Basically, it is designed to require more skill than time, but still needs a lot of time to get maxed out. That shouldn't be a player's main goal though...
Also, know that EA isn't fully complete. Most of the game is there, but some bugs need to be smoothened out before the devs can start adding new content and stuff.
Some nice features in EA:
Four characters to choose from: Human Male, Human Female, Bloblic, Amphibian
Trade Skills :Alchemy (makes potions and ammo for Amphibian guns), Engineering (makes guns for Humans and Bloblics and Jetpacks), and Smithy (makes armor for all races)
Rebirthing: use the rebirth command or button in a safe zone to respawn there when you die
Shapeshifting: shift into a variety of creatures for a variety of abilities, particularly higher damage and faster traveling
A few problems:
Grinding to level up at later stages of the game. This will most likely change after the various bugs are taken care of. Speaking of which, the bugs don't really obstruct gameplay. Maybe a glitched quest here and there, which can be fixed by a dev.
The AI aims at the foot of its target, meaning that some enemies have trouble hitting when you stand still, and can't hit you when you stand on a ledge.
Balance. Certain weapons/enemies do too much or too little damage. This is only a moderate inconvenience, and will most likely be fixed after the various minor bugs are fixed.
Endless Ages is also just about the only game of it's type. FPS, MMORPG. As the player base grows (it's suffered a decline after a short period of server downtime to switch to a new server) EA will just get better and better.
